I have always been a mover. Starting at a young age, I began to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer. This journey has taken me through many professional schools and companies throughout Canada and New York City.  I have performed throughout the United States and Europe with the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company for 14 years.

My love of movement has inspired me to work as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. In 2003, I enrolled in  Kelly Kane's School of Core Integration for my Pilates Certification. I chose the School of Core Integration because of their focus on anatomy and biomechanics, while adhering to the system of movements developed by Joseph Pilates.

I am also a certified aerial yoga instructor. I received my certification through Michelle Dortignac, founder of Unnata Aerial Yoga.

Most recently I received my certification as a Movement and Postural Analyst through Anatomy Trains and KMI, developed by Tom Myers. Combining my experience and education in movement, pilates and anatomy, I work with my clients to obtain life-long body alignment and postural improvements by focusing on the structural health of each individual. My goal is to empower my clients to learn more about how their bodies works, and how they can achieve freedom of movement without pain, whether they are training, rehabilitating or looking to improve their current level of fitness. Wendee is also a certified Buff Bones instructor. Buff Bones is a medically-endorsed system of movement for bone and joint health. It integrates Pilates, strength-training, functional movement and therapeutic exercise with bone strengthening and balance techniques, and is safe for those with osteoporosis.

During COVID, Wendee has completed a dissection of a human cadaver with Anatomy Trains, Wendee learned how amazing our gift of life is and the amazing abilities of the human body.
Completed FAMI One and FAMI Two: The Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries (FAMI) Workshop is a six-day immersion course in anatomy and injuries for movement professionals. Held in a medical school, the course brings the best of medical education to the movement world, including Gross Anatomy labs and physician-led lectures. She gain hands-on experience with questions answered by top anatomists and physicians.

She has completed a variety of Anatomy Trains Masterclasses, Workshops on the Feet as well as the Hip and the Spine with the amazing Kuan Hui Chew. She currently completed Myokinematic Restoration and Pelvis Restoration with the Postural Restoration Institute.

She has completed Level 1 and 2 as a Core Align Instructor with Tom McCook.

Emily Tole

Pilates Instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist

I consider myself a lifelong student of the human body and all that it is capable of.
I studied dance at Bennington College before returning to the Mt. Washington Valley of NH and attending New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts to receive my massage certificate.
As a dancer I have pushed the limits of movement and flexibility and I have explored the range of possibilities that exist within our anatomy.  As a massage therapist I have witnessed how limiting pain and discomfort can be and how it can take away our freedom of movement.
I came to Pilates because I was looking for additional resources for my massage clients. I knew that releasing tissues was only part of the picture, there needed to be a strength and rebalancing piece as well. I wanted to help them find a modality that would further help them create the picture of wellness they have for themselves.  In the process I discovered that Pilates was a great resource for me as well!  I am a mom to two little boys who are the light of my days.  With them came a body which felt and some days still feels, unfamiliar.  Pilates has helped me to reconnect with my body and find my way back to a more familiar physical state of being.
My family and I recently relocated to Gorham, Maine and are so grateful to be here.
I am beyond excited to be part of the team at Scarborough Pilates.  I look forward to working with each and every one of the clients while we do the work, together, to become the very best versions of ourselves.

Marcia Baker

Pilates Instructor

Born and raised in New Hampshire, Marcia spends much of her free time enjoying the outdoors where you will often find her cycling, hiking, skiing, or paddleboarding.
She explored yoga and other modalities but it was through Pilates that she really felt her body connect with  movement.  That connection lit a spark within and she dove head first into her pursuit of becoming a Pilates instructor.  Through the Kane School teacher training she has begun a deeper dive into movement.
She is passionate and excited to help others find the connection that she found with a fitness pursuit that meets every body where they are on a given day.
